Thievery Corporation brings its genre-blending electronic sound to Phoenix. The Washington, D.C., duo of Rob Garza and Eric Hilton mix dub, acid jazz, reggae, Indian classical, Middle Eastern music, hip hop, electronica and Brazilian bossa nova into a style shaped by club culture and chill-out rooms.
The pair met at D.C.'s Eighteenth Street Lounge, where a shared love of dub, bossa nova, reggae and jazz led to a record label and a long run of albums, from Sounds from the Thievery Hi-Fi to The Richest Man in Babylon and The Cosmic Game. Their records feature a rotating cast of guest vocalists, and their concerts carry a relaxed, worldly atmosphere.
