AFI (A Fire Inside) formed in Ukiah, California, in 1991 and has been fronted since 1998 by singer Davey Havok alongside longtime members Adam Carson, Hunter Burgan, and Jade Puget. The band broke into the mainstream with 2003's platinum-selling Sing the Sorrow, blending hardcore-punk roots with gothic and alternative rock across a catalog that also includes The Art of Drowning and Decemberunderground.
