Ben Musser: Solo Debut at Club Cafe

After two decades writing songs and fronting bands, Ben Musser is stepping out on his own. As the leader of Benyaro, he toured widely, landing slots at SXSW and the Sundance Film Festival. His solo debut, Sentimental Fever, is a one-man-band record: he wrote every song, played every instrument, and co-produced the album with Scott Mathews, whose credits include the Beach Boys, Van Morrison, and Roy Orbison.

Live, Musser brings that same self-contained energy to the stage, singing and strumming an acoustic guitar while working kick drum, hi-hat, and shaker with his feet. The 11 tracks on Sentimental Fever lean on sharp songcraft and layered organic arrangements rooted in American roots music.
