Every Monday, The Nick in Birmingham, Alabama, opens its stage to a freewheeling open mic night called Birmingham Bandstand. Hosted by Dr. D with Josh Moehr on sound, the evening welcomes acoustic acts, comedy, and full bands across all genres. Backline—drums, amps, and guitars—is provided for performers who need them, making it easy for anyone to jump up and play.
The Nick is a private club, so entry requires a membership card and valid ID for those 21 and up. The venue, located on 10th Ave S, is a storied rock & roll room in the city's music scene. The open mic offers a laid-back, communal atmosphere where local talent takes the stage.
