Brooklyn-raised rapper, singer, songwriter and producer KOTA The Friend headlines a night of hip-hop at Blue Note Hawaii. Known for a mellow, jazz-leaning sound, he has stayed independent, releasing albums on his own FLTBYS label, including No Rap on Sunday with guest spots from Big Sean and Fivio Foreign. His songs have also been featured in Netflix and Amazon Prime movies.
Opening the evening is DJ Delve, a longtime Hawai'i club DJ whose sets span genres and who has opened for acts like Anderson Paak, Future, Jhene Aiko and Kehlani. The venue offers table seating on a first come, first served basis, with a full bar and dinner menu available during the show. For fans, it's a chance to hear a Brooklyn artist who counts Jay-Z, Nas, Kid Cudi, Bob Dylan, The Beatles and Pharrell among his influences in a club setting.
