The Wizard of Oz at Sphere reframes the 1939 MGM classic as a 4D film built for the Las Vegas venue's vast 160,000-square-foot, 16K screen. AI-generated imagery expands the original picture, and the score has been re-recorded with an 80-piece orchestra. The experience begins in a sepia-toned Kansas atrium with props and Oz-related exhibits before the screening.

Inside the auditorium, the tornado sequence fills the room with wind, fog, and leaves, with the audience placed inside the funnel. Later moments bring butterflies, foam apples falling from the ceiling, snow during the poppy-field scene, pyrotechnics in the Wizard's throne room, and life-size flying monkeys that approach via UAV technology.
