Tommy Emmanuel is an Australian virtuoso guitarist known for a percussive fingerstyle technique that lets him play melody, bass line and rhythm simultaneously, effectively functioning as a one-man band on a single acoustic guitar. Born in 1955 in New South Wales, he was honored in 1999 by his mentor Chet Atkins with the CGP (Certified Guitar Player) distinction, one of only five musicians to receive it.
