Vince Giordano and The Nighthawks at Birdland Theater

Vince Giordano, a Grammy-winning multi-instrumentalist, leads his 11-piece Nighthawks in an authentic recreation of 1920s jazz at their Birdland Theater residency. The band has set the standard for period jazz, providing soundtracks for films like The Cotton Club, The Aviator, and Boardwalk Empire, as well as TV shows like The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. Attendees can expect an evening of lively, historically informed jazz from the early days of the genre.

Giordano, a New York native, is also a music historian with a collection of over 60,000 scores. His deep knowledge of the Great American Songbook and his mastery of bass saxophone, string bass, and tuba bring an unparalleled authenticity to the performance. The Nighthawks transport audiences back to the roaring twenties with music by Jelly Roll Morton, Louis Armstrong, and Duke Ellington.
