UniverSoul Circus in Houston

UniverSoul Circus is a single-ring circus founded by Cedric Walker, focusing on performers of color. The first show took place in the parking lot of Atlanta Fulton County Stadium. By the mid-2000s, the tour visited over 30 cities annually.

A special featuring the circus debuted on HBO in 1998, and an international tour to South Africa followed in 2001. The circus has faced animal cruelty allegations since 1997, including incidents of animals escaping.
