The Holiday - Film With Live Orchestra
The Holiday is a 2006 American romantic comedy film written and directed by Nancy Meyers, starring Cameron Diaz, Kate Winslet, Jude Law and Jack Black, with Eli Wallach in a supporting role. It follows two women, a Los Angeles film-trailer producer and a London newspaper columnist, who swap homes over the Christmas period to escape romantic disappointments, each finding unexpected relationships in the other's country.

The film's score was composed by Hans Zimmer with contributions from Heitor Pereira, combining original orchestral themes with a soundtrack of contemporary songs. Zimmer's recurring musical motifs for the two lead characters became one of the production's most praised elements and have since been arranged for standalone orchestral performance.
Released in December 2006, The Holiday grossed more than $205 million worldwide against an $85 million budget. Critical reviews were mixed, with some critics calling the plot predictable, but audiences responded warmly, awarding it an A- CinemaScore, and it has since become a recurring holiday-season television favourite.
"Film with live orchestra" presentations screen the movie in full while a symphony orchestra performs Zimmer's score live, synchronized to the picture, a format a growing number of orchestras use to pair familiar film soundtracks with live concert performance.
