Filocafé: Philosophy Café at Zamora Library

Filocafé turns the Biblioteca Pública de Zamora into a meeting place for philosophical conversation. Designed for adults curious about philosophical and social questions, each session opens with a short presentation and a talk by the invited speaker, followed by readings of related texts and an open discussion with the room. The library’s own collection — books, films and other materials — supplies the starting points for the dialogue.

Rather than a one-way lecture, the format is a shared exchange: the speaker may follow the classic arc of presentation, reading and conversation, or reshape it. The goal is to promote philosophical reflection and social debate in a setting built for reading and thought, welcoming anyone interested in the world and in human life. Across the season a wide variety of themes are proposed, so returning visitors will find fresh subjects at each session.
