Curso de Huerto Especializado

This specialized gardening course, run by Madrid's city council, is designed for environmental educators who want to explore the ecosystem services provided by urban gardens and learn how to use them as an educational resource. Over five sessions, participants delve into the main types of ecosystem services—provisioning, regulating, and cultural—connecting them to biodiversity, soil, food, well-being, community participation, and environmental education.

Sessions take place at the Aula Ambiental La Cabaña del Retiro, a green classroom in the heart of Madrid's Retiro Park. The course is hands-on and community-focused, with limited places and a commitment to regular attendance. All activities are free, and booking is required in advance. Outdoor activities may be cancelled in case of orange or red weather alerts, and sessions run with a minimum of four participants.
