KBCS Presents Southern Culture on the Skids

A night of roots-rock and Americana lands at the Tractor in Seattle as KBCS presents Southern Culture on the Skids with Poi Rogers. The North Carolina trio—Rick Miller, Mary Huff and Dave Hartman—has been touring and recording since 1983, carrying its blend of rock and roll, surf, folk and country from house parties to late-night TV and beyond. Their live shows are known as a foot-stomping, high-energy affair.

Opening act Poi Rogers brings Santa Cruz-bred Americana with western and gypsy swing, Hawaiian steel guitar and storytelling. The duo pairs clever lyrics with dynamic musicianship, and its lineup features Gerard Egan doubling on acoustic and steel guitar with Carolyn Sills on bass. Together the two acts make for a night of lively roots music.
