Sasha Velour Brings TRAVESTY to Minneapolis

Sasha Velour brings TRAVESTY to Minneapolis. Velour is a drag artist, illustrator and producer who won the ninth season of RuPaul's Drag Race and produced the Brooklyn drag revue NightGowns and the one-queen theatrical show Smoke & Mirrors. Those productions point to a theatrical evening built around performance, visual art and storytelling.

Before focusing on drag, Velour trained as a cartoonist, studied at Vassar College, and worked at the Russian State Hermitage Museum and Berlin's Staatsoper. Her early projects included comics, illustration and a magazine devoted to drag. For attendees new to her work, TRAVESTY is a chance to see a performer whose career has spanned drag, visual art and theater.
