AFI in Columbus

AFI (A Fire Inside) is a Bay Area band fronted by vocalist Davey Havok whose 2003 major-label breakthrough, Sing the Sorrow, fused hardcore and alt-rock with goth and horror-punk textures reminiscent of the Cure and Bauhaus. Recorded with producers Jerry Finn and Butch Vig, the platinum-selling album peaked at number five on the Billboard 200 and spawned the singles "Girl's Not Grey" and "The Leaving Song Pt. II," tracks that brought the band's dark, theatrical sound to a much wider MTV-era rock audience. Havok's heavily made-up visual style during that period became closely associated with the band's crossover into mainstream rock and pop-punk-adjacent radio. More than two decades on, AFI continues to tour on a catalog rooted in that hardcore-to-mainstream evolution. Columbus catches the band on October 15, 2026.
