Buena Vista Orchestra in Indianapolis

Buena Vista Orchestra is a repertory ensemble dedicated to keeping the music of the Buena Vista Social Club alive, drawing on musicians who have performed with the original Social Club, the Afro-Cuban All Stars, and the bands of Celia Cruz, Omara Portuondo, and Chucho Valdes. The group performs traditional son cubano, mambo, and cha-cha-cha, including classic compositions such as "Chan Chan" and "El Cuarto de Tula" that defined the Grammy-winning Buena Vista Social Club project of the late 1990s. At the Egyptian Room at Old National Centre, the orchestra brings that mid-century Havana sound to Indianapolis, offering an evening built around the passionate musicianship and rhythmic warmth that made the Buena Vista Social Club one of the best-selling and most acclaimed Cuban music projects in history.
