Jacob Eary Trio Plays Wayne Shorter

The Jacob Eary Trio brings the music of jazz legend Wayne Shorter to the intimate Rose Room at Valley Bar in downtown Phoenix. Shorter, a towering figure in jazz history, is celebrated for his work with Art Blakey, Miles Davis, and Weather Report, as well as for timeless compositions like "Footprints," "Speak No Evil," and "Nefertiti." This free, 21+ performance offers a chance to hear his innovative spirit interpreted by a local trio.

Led by drummer and composer Jacob Eary, a Phoenix-based educator and leader of the art collective Scumbag Airlines, the trio features saxophonist Sam Hickman and bassist Vincent Thiefain. Eary, who has performed across the Southwest and South America, curates collaborative music and visual art with talent from the Phoenix community.
