Huebl / Wang Duo: A Chamber Music Journey

Cellist Felix Wang and violinist Carolyn Huebl bring a duo program that spans centuries and continents. Both are professors at Vanderbilt University's Blair School of Music and founding members of the Blakemore Piano Trio, an ensemble that toured nationally for over twenty years.

The afternoon pairs Baroque counterpoint with twentieth-century fire and Argentine tango. It opens with a duet by J.S. Bach, moves through lyrical duos by Reinhold Glière, takes on Kodály's folk-infused Duo for Violin and Cello, and closes with tangos by Astor Piazzolla.
