The Wizard of Oz at Sphere

At Sphere in Las Vegas, The Wizard of Oz becomes an immersive 4D journey rather than a standard screening. Guests begin in an atrium styled after sepia-toned Kansas, where Professor Marvel's cart and the Wizard's hot-air balloon are on display. Inside the auditorium, the film fills the venue's vast screen, with the original score re-recorded by an 80-piece orchestra and imagery expanded beyond the original frame.

Throughout the show, the room itself performs: wind, fog, and leaves blow through the audience during the tornado, foam apples fall from the ceiling, snow arrives with Glinda's spell, and UAV-guided flying monkeys swoop toward the seats. After the closing credits, the atrium is reimagined as a Technicolor Emerald City, and guests are welcomed into a life-size replica of the Wizard's throne room to meet his ghostly green head.
