Alexander Armstrong
Alexander Henry Fenwick Armstrong is an English broadcaster, actor and comedian, born 2 March 1970 in Rothbury, Northumberland. A former chorister at St Mary's Music School and Durham School, he read English at Trinity College, Cambridge, where he sang bass-baritone in the chapel choir and met comedy partner Ben Miller through the Cambridge Footlights in 1992.

Armstrong is best known as one half of the double act Armstrong and Miller, whose sketch shows ran on television from 1997 and won a BAFTA after the duo's 2007 revival, The Armstrong and Miller Show. Since 2009 he has co-hosted the BBC quiz show Pointless with Richard Osman, and he is the most frequent guest host of Have I Got News for You. He has also voiced the title role in the animated series Danger Mouse.
Alongside broadcasting, Armstrong has maintained a parallel singing career, releasing the solo albums A Year of Songs (2015), Upon a Different Shore (2016) and In a Winter Light (2017); A Year of Songs reached number six on the UK Albums Chart. In 2014 he joined Classic FM, initially presenting weekend programming before moving to a flagship weekday slot.
Since 2020 he has hosted Classic FM's mid-morning show on weekdays, while continuing to present Pointless and appear on panel shows. In 2024 he competed on The Masked Singer UK in costume, and he continues to front travel documentaries for British broadcasters.
