JPEGMafia, born Barrington DeVaughn Hendricks on October 22, 1989, in Flatbush, Brooklyn, is an American rapper and producer based between Baltimore, Maryland, and Los Angeles. He served in the United States Air Force before pursuing music full time and adopted the JPEGMafia name in 2015 after relocating to Baltimore.

His music merges experimental hip-hop, industrial hip-hop, alternative hip-hop, psychedelic rap and alternative R&B, pairing abrasive, self-produced instrumentals with socially conscious lyrics addressing racism and police brutality. He has cited Kanye West, MF DOOM and Radiohead among his influences, and is known for an unpredictable, confrontational live performance style.
JPEGMafia's breakthrough came with the 2018 album Veteran, which drew widespread critical acclaim, following his 2016 debut Black Ben Carson. He continued with All My Heroes Are Cornballs (2019), LP! (2021) and I Lay Down My Life for You (2024), with a further album, Experimental Rap, slated for 2026. He is signed to Republic Records and has collaborated with artists including Danny Brown and Flume.
