Informazioni su Paul Heaton
After the Housemartins split, Heaton co-founded the Beautiful South with drummer Dave Hemingway in 1988, a group that proved considerably more commercially successful. Their single "A Little Time" topped the UK charts in 1990, and several of the band's albums went platinum before the group disbanded in 2007, citing musical differences.
Heaton pursued a solo career with modest chart success before reuniting with former Beautiful South singer Jacqui Abbott in 2014. Their subsequent albums together, including Manchester Calling (2020) and N.K-Pop (2022), both reached number one on the UK charts, extending a songwriting partnership built on the same wit and melodic sensibility that defined his earlier bands.
Away from music, Heaton is known as a devoted football supporter and an eccentric collector of memorabilia, crisp packets, and postcards, and once cycled 2,500 miles across Britain visiting venues to mark his 50th birthday.
