Informazioni su Poppy
Her debut studio album, Poppy.Computer, was released on 6 October 2017 through Mad Decent, an art-pop record heavily influenced by Japanese music and culture that explored themes of technology, fame and growing up online, mirroring the content of her YouTube channel. The album was produced with collaborators including Simon Wilcox, Titanic Sinclair, Chris Greatti and Ryosuke Sakai, and she supported it with the Poppy.Computer Tour through late 2017 and early 2018.
Poppy won the 2017 Streamy Award for Breakthrough Artist of the Year. In subsequent releases she moved progressively toward heavier, metal- and industrial-influenced sounds, distancing her music from her earlier bubblegum-pop online persona and drawing critical attention for reinventing her artistic identity across successive albums.
She has continued to record and tour as a musician while also working as an actress, author and director, maintaining a multidisciplinary public profile beyond music.
