Suede
Suede are an English rock band formed in London in 1989 by vocalist Brett Anderson, guitarist Justine Frischmann, and bassist Mat Osman; in the United States the band performs as the London Suede. Guitarist Bernard Butler joined soon after and became a key songwriting partner with Anderson before departing in 1994.

The band's self-titled debut, Suede (1993), won the Mercury Prize and was the fastest-selling debut album in nearly a decade. Dog Man Star (1994) followed and is now regarded as one of the era's major rock albums, while Coming Up (1996) became their most commercially successful record, producing five top-ten singles. Later, Head Music (1999) topped the UK chart, and the band's comeback records Bloodsports (2013), Night Thoughts (2016), and The Blue Hour (2018) extended their run into the late 2010s.
Suede were named "Best New Band in Britain" by Melody Maker in 1992 and became part of Britpop's "big four" alongside Oasis, Blur, and Pulp. They disbanded in 2003 and reunited in 2010, resuming live performances and eventually new recording. The band has since won multiple NME Awards, including the Godlike Genius Award in 2015, and the Q Awards Inspiration Award in 2010, and continues to tour behind its expanded catalogue.
