The Saw Doctors formed in Tuam, County Galway, in 1986 around songwriters Leo Moran and Davy Carton, mixing Irish folk instrumentation with straightforward rock arrangements. Their single 'I Useta Lover' became the biggest-selling single in Irish chart history, and steady touring across Ireland and the UK built a wider following.
Seven studio albums followed, alongside eighteen Top 30 entries on the Irish singles chart. The band remains best known for boisterous, singalong performances that lean on the folk-rock songbook built up since their formation, with Moran and Carton still fronting the lineup.
