The 9. Nacht der Lichtkunst - Familien - Lichtreise in die Region: Unna - Soest - Unna takes place on Saturday 24 October 2026 from 16:00 to 21:20. It begins at Zentrum für Information und Bildung, Lindenplatz 1, 59423 Unna.

At the Zentrum für Internationale Lichtkunst, ten metres underground, there are dancing stars, brightly coloured glowing corals and an underground waterfall. The temporary exhibition "LIGHT DIALOGUES" is also visited. Above ground, 57,600 LED lamps light the way, and before boarding the bus, participants look up at the "Fibonacci-Reihe" on the chimney of the former Lindenbrauerei.

During the bus ride to Soest, the project HELLWEG - ein LICHTWEG is presented and discussed. In Soest, an invisible brainwave is shown on the facade of the Museum Wilhelm Morgner. At a glowing arch, participants make a light graffiti together.

They walk on dark paths and see colourful insects along the way. They also look at a special pilgrim's staff and discover a laser artwork in a chapel, shown especially for the "9. Nächten der Lichtkunst" at this location.

Children and adults are creative together and approach the art objects in a playful way. A little adventurous spirit is needed to explore the light art with torches on dark paths and through labyrinthine cellar vaults. Participants should bring sturdy shoes, weather-appropriate clothing, one torch per child and their own food.
