Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary in Marsa

On Friday 9 October, Marsa celebrates the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary, honouring the Blessed Virgin Mary and the tradition of rosary prayer. Marsa marks the day with a band club procession through the town's streets, and homes and public squares decorated with flags, bunting, flowers and religious statuary. The centrepiece is the evening procession, when the statue of Our Lady is carried through candlelit streets.

Food stalls along the streets serve imqaret, qubbajt, pastizzi and other traditional Maltese food. Fireworks typically follow after dark, drawing crowds into the squares and open spaces to watch.
