The 4 Seasons - BALLET

This performance brings to life the allegorical ballet *The Seasons*, choreographed by Marius Petipa to music by Alexander Glazunov. The ballet unfolds across four tableaux—Winter, Spring, Summer, and Autumn—each filled with symbolic characters and dances. Audiences can expect a depiction of nature's cycle, from frost and snowflakes to flower fairies, corn spirits, and a grand bacchanale.

The production follows the classic narrative: Winter is surrounded by Hoar-frost, Ice, Hail, and Snow; Spring dances with Zephyr and flower fairies; Summer brings cornflowers, poppies, and naiads; and Autumn culminates in a bacchanale. The ballet concludes with an apotheosis of sparkling constellations.

This rendition of *The Seasons* is a rare opportunity to see a work that premiered at the Imperial Theatre of the Hermitage in 1900 and was revived by Nikolai Legat in 1907. It remains a piece of classical ballet repertoire, celebrated for its choreography and Glazunov's score.
