An Evening with The Hillbilly Thomists

The Hillbilly Thomists are an American bluegrass band made up of Dominican friars, formed in 2014 at the Dominican House of Studies in Washington, D.C. Their music blends Appalachian folk, Protestant spirituals, and Catholic themes, creating a sound that is both rooted in tradition and distinctly spiritual. The band draws its name from a letter by author Flannery O'Connor, who called herself a 'hillbilly Thomist'.

The group has released four albums since 2017, with several charting near the top of the Billboard bluegrass charts.
