Mariachazo in Grand Rapids

Mariachazo brings a vibrant celebration of mariachi music to Grand Rapids, featuring two renowned ensembles. Attendees can expect an evening filled with passionate sounds from traditional Mexican folk instruments.

The headlining Mariachi Vargas de Tecalitlán is a legendary group founded in 1896 in Tecalitlán, Jalisco. Over more than a century, they have evolved from a small fandango ensemble to a full mariachi orchestra, known for their signature 'Sonido Tecalitlán' and numerous film appearances. Their current lineup includes fourteen musicians, carrying on a rich tradition.

Joining them is Mariachi Nuevo Tecalitlan, continuing the legacy of this storied music. Together, these groups promise an authentic and lively performance that honors the deep heritage of mariachi.
