Journey
Journey is an American rock band formed in San Francisco in 1973 by guitarist Neal Schon and keyboardist Gregg Rolie, both formerly of Santana, alongside bassist Ross Valory, guitarist George Tickner and drummer Prairie Prince. The band initially played instrumental jazz-rock before shifting toward a more commercial arena-rock sound.

O Journey
Vocalist Steve Perry joined in 1977 and fronted the band through its most successful period. Journey's 1981 album Escape reached number one on the Billboard 200 and included "Don't Stop Believin'," which later became one of the best-selling digital tracks in U.S. history, alongside hits "Open Arms" and "Who's Crying Now." The follow-up, Frontiers (1983), reached number two and further broadened the band's international audience.
Perry left the band in 1987, returned for the 1996 reunion album Trial by Fire, and departed again in 1998. Subsequent lead singers have included Steve Augeri and, since 2007, Arnel Pineda, a Filipino singer discovered through YouTube videos of him performing Journey covers.
As of 2025, the band's lineup comprises Neal Schon, Arnel Pineda, Jonathan Cain, Deen Castronovo, Jason Derlatka and Todd Jensen, with Cain announcing plans to depart after a farewell tour. Journey continues to tour extensively on the strength of its early-1980s catalogue.
