Ricky Gervais
Ricky Gervais was born in Reading, Berkshire, England, in 1961. He initially pursued a career in music as the singer of the new-wave duo Seona Dancing in the early 1980s and later worked as an events manager and band manager before moving into comedy, appearing on Channel 4's The 11 O'Clock Show from 1998.

O Ricky Gervais
He is best known for co-creating, co-writing and starring in the British sitcom The Office (2001-2003) with Stephen Merchant, a mockumentary set in a fictional paper company that was later adapted into an American version. He went on to create and star in Extras, Derek and After Life, and has performed multiple stand-up tours including Animals, Politics, Fame, Science and Humanity. He has won seven British Academy Television Awards, five Golden Globe Awards and two Primetime Emmy Awards, and has hosted the Golden Globes ceremony five times.
