2nd Machalepin Festival: Live Music & Cultural Celebration

Returning for its second edition, the Machalepin Festival transforms the mountain village of Amiantos into a vibrant hub of music and tradition. The afternoon features live performances by four exceptional musicians, blending Cretan lyra, laouto, and Eastern Mediterranean influences with Greek folk roots. Attendees can enjoy the soulful sounds and later savor a complimentary tasting of Machalepion, a traditional Cypriot sweet that gives the festival its name.

The outdoor venue in the mountain village of Amiantos provides a cool mountain setting. The lineup includes Antonis Chourdakis, Kostis Chalkiadakis, Stefanos Pelekanis, and Areti Ketime, whose music spans Cretan and Greek folk traditions. A complimentary tasting of Machalepion adds a local gastronomic element. The festival welcomes all ages and is free, with no advance registration required.
