Aarhus Festuge: 10 Days of Culture in Aarhus

Aarhus Festuge is a 10-day arts and culture festival that takes over the Danish city of Aarhus each year. With around 1,000 events on the programme, it ranks as one of Northern Europe's largest cultural gatherings. The line-up spans music, theatre, visual arts, architecture, food, art installations, talks, dancing, and general entertainment.

The festival was founded as an experiment to bring the city's institutions and associations together, and it has since become an internationally recognized event with artists from around the world. About one third of the programme is arranged by the festival's head office, while the remaining two thirds are organised by private and external actors across the city. That mix gives the event a collaborative, city-wide energy.
