Barrio de El Pilar: El Tranvía de Peñagrande

This exhibition in Madrid's Fuencarral-El Pardo district offers a visual journey along the historic route of tram line 3, which ran from Cuatro Caminos to Peñagrande (Ricote). The line was inaugurated in 1932, connecting the Colegio de La Paloma with the Colonia Peñagrande, and completed a service that had reached La Paloma from Cuatro Caminos since 1912. It remained in operation until 1971.

Organised by the Grupo de Historia Urbana del Barrio de El Pilar, the display is set in the exhibition area of the Biblioteca Pública Municipal José Saramago. Visitors can explore the history of this once-vital transport link through archival imagery and documents, gaining insight into the urban development of the neighbourhood. Admission is free, and the exhibition runs for several weeks, making it a convenient stop for those interested in local heritage.
