This double bill at Chaillot – Théâtre national de la Danse plunges audiences into the history of hip-hop dance. In *Bounce*, the Sons of Wind collective, founded in 2013 and led by Lumi Sow, delivers a magnetic freestyle performance where ten dancers embody the groove and core hip-hop values of respect, sharing, and self-transcendence.
Then, whacking star Mounia Nassangar takes the stage with *STUCK*, tracing the origins of this hypnotic arm-whirling style born in the 1970s among LA's Black and Latino LGBT community. Accompanied by five dancers in a cinematic disco-funk atmosphere, the piece reveals whacking's celebratory and defiant power, proving the living legacy of hip-hop dance.
