Fanions Manifestes: Collective Banner Workshop in Paris

Throughout July 2026, the Institut des Cultures d'Islam invites children, adults, and families to create their own pennants, inscribing dreams, desires, or demands. This participatory art project, led by artist M'barka Amor, asks a simple question: what becomes of childhood dreams in adulthood?

Assembled together, the pennants form a large collective garland displayed at various events in the streets of the Goutte d'Or neighborhood. The workshops take place at square Léon and on rue Richomme and rue Laghouat, in collaboration with local associations Home Sweet Mômes, ADOS, and AGO.

M'barka Amor's work weaves intimate and collective narratives through drawing, writing, performance, video, and installation, exploring territories, languages, and identities of the Arab diaspora in France. Her art has been shown at Galerie 31Project, ICI, and Fondation H in Paris.
