Jamie McIntyre: A Journalist's Journey

Jamie McIntyre is an American journalist with a career spanning more than four decades, from his start as a Sunday morning disc jockey in Gainesville, Florida, to his role as senior Pentagon correspondent for CNN. Known for his coverage of military affairs and national security, he reported from over 65 countries and logged more than 500,000 air miles traveling with defense officials.

Beyond his serious reporting, McIntyre has a lighter side, having been named "Third Funniest Reporter on the Planet" in a charity competition at the Laugh Factory in New York City. He also placed third in the "Funniest Celebrity in Washington" contest at the DC Improv. His work has earned him recognition, including being part of Time magazine's "Person of the Year" in 2006.

McIntyre's career includes stints at CNN, NPR, Al Jazeera America, and the Washington Examiner, where he currently writes a newsletter. He was present at the Pentagon on September 11, 2001, after it was struck, and has taught multimedia journalism at the University of Maryland.
