Pedro Cabrita Reis Exhibition at MAAT

Pedro Cabrita Reis, one of Portugal's most internationally recognized artists, brings a major exhibition to the MAAT - Museum of Art, Architecture and Technology in Lisbon. The show spans painting, sculpture, drawing, and installation, reflecting his omnivorous creative process that reclaims fragments of urban and rural life.

Visitors can expect a large-scale painting installation in the Oval Gallery, complemented by a diverse array of smaller works including drawings, sculptures, assemblages, and series of floral, landscape, and figurative paintings. The exhibition traces Cabrita Reis's trajectory from the 1980s to the present, highlighting his ability to transform discarded objects into powerful artistic statements.

This is a rare opportunity to experience the breadth of an artist who has participated in documenta, the Venice Biennale, and the São Paulo Biennial, and whose works are held by major institutions worldwide. The exhibition is curated by João Pinharanda and runs from September 2026 to February 2027.
