Carmina Burana Opens a New Era for Harmonium of Texas

Harmonium of Texas begins a new chapter in San Antonio with Carl Orff's monumental *Carmina Burana*, led by conductor Jeffrey Kahane. The orchestra shares the stage with the San Antonio Mastersingers, the San Antonio Children's Chorus, and the Youth Orchestras of San Antonio, a true community-wide collaboration on a grand scale.

The program pairs Orff's beloved cantata with Gabriela Ortiz's *Antrópolis* and Michael Torke's 'Sky' Violin Concerto, with violinist Tessa Lark as soloist. It adds up to an evening of dramatic choruses, contemporary orchestral color, and a powerful sense of occasion in the Lila Cockrell Theatre.
