Hell's Kitchen (Touring)

Hell's Kitchen is a jukebox musical built around the music of Alicia Keys. The semi-autobiographical story follows 17-year-old Ali as she grows up in 1990s Manhattan, caught between an overprotective single mother and her own fierce desire for independence. When a neighbor introduces her to the piano, Ali begins to find a purpose that reshapes her relationships.

The show blends some of Keys's best-known songs with new numbers, all tied to the rhythm of 90s New York. At its heart is the push-and-pull between mother and daughter, with a supporting cast that includes a young drummer and the mentor who opens Ali's world. The touring production brings this Broadway musical to San Diego with a book by Kristoffer Diaz, music by Alicia Keys, direction by Michael Greif, and choreography by Camille A. Brown.
