Hot Club of Cowtown at Birdland Theater

Since forming in the late 1990s, the Hot Club of Cowtown has blended country and jazz into Western swing that The Times (London) called 'down-home melodies and exuberant improvisation.' The trio—Whit Smith, Elana James, and Jake Erwin—perform with joyful energy, covering hot jazz standards and original songs. Their shows emphasize improvisation and a deep respect for American music roots.

Over the past 25+ years, the band has toured extensively, sharing bills with Bob Dylan and Willie Nelson, and appearing at festivals from Glastonbury to the Newport Folk Festival.
