The 2026 Commonwealth Games, officially the XXIII Commonwealth Games and known as Glasgow 2026, is a multi-sport event scheduled for 23 July to 2 August 2026 in Glasgow, Scotland. Glasgow was confirmed as host in October 2024 after the state of Victoria, Australia, withdrew from its hosting commitment in 2023 citing rising costs.
It is the fourth Commonwealth Games to be held in Scotland, following Edinburgh in 1970 and 1986 and Glasgow in 2014. The opening ceremony is scheduled to take place at the OVO Hydro, with around 3,000 athletes from 74 Commonwealth Games Associations expected to compete across 215 events in 11 sports.
