Iron Maiden are an English heavy metal band formed in London in 1975 by bassist Steve Harris. Pioneers of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal, they are known for galloping basslines, twin-guitar harmonies and their zombie mascot Eddie.

Albums including "The Number of the Beast", "Powerslave" and "Fear of the Dark", with anthems like "Run to the Hills" and "The Trooper", have sold over 100 million records. Their elaborately staged theatrical tours remain a benchmark for live metal.
