Michael Ashley Ball was born on 27 June 1962 in Bromsgrove, Worcestershire, England, and is a singer, actor and broadcaster. He made his West End debut in 1985 as Marius Pontmercy in the original London production of Les Misérables, and in 1989 reached number two on the UK singles chart with "Love Changes Everything" from the musical Aspects of Love.

О Michael Ball

In 1992 he represented the United Kingdom at the Eurovision Song Contest, finishing second. He won the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actor in a Musical in 2008 for playing Edna Turnblad in Hairspray, and in 2020 reached number one on the UK singles chart with a cover of "You'll Never Walk Alone" recorded with Captain Tom Moore.
