Uli Boettcher is a German actor and cabaret artist, born on 16 October 1966 in Weingarten, Wurttemberg. After finishing intermediate school in Ravensburg in 1982 he completed a painter's apprenticeship from 1983 to 1986. He then worked as a comic artist and in street theatre and free theatre groups.
From 1992 he was a member of the permanent ensemble of Theater Ravensburg and remained in its self-written productions until 2009, also directing and touring with his solo programmes. From 2000 he played roles in classics at the Klosterfestspiele Weingarten, and in 2003 he co-founded the improvisation theatre Improshnikov. In March 2011 he opened the cabaret stage Hoftheater in a converted barn in Hof, part of Baienfurt.
His stage programmes include the solo show Romeo und Julia, his most successful solo piece, and Winnetou IV - Prarie Comedy (2007) with Bernd Kohlhepp. Later solo programmes include U40 - die Party ist zu Ende (2008), Keine Ahnung! (2012) and U50 - Silberrucken im Nebel (2017). He received the Kleinkunstpreis Baden-Wurttemberg in 2013 and the Kulturpreis der Stadte Ravensburg und Weingarten in 2015, and appeared in the television films Tatort - Ohne Beweise (2005) and Tatort - Schmuggler (2012).
