Cyprus Christmas Villages 2026: Agros, Kalopanagiotis, Kyperounta, Lefkara & More
Проверено: Wanderistan editorial team · Обновлено: 28 июл. 2026 г.
Every winter, Cyprus's Deputy Ministry of Tourism turns a cluster of mountain and heritage villages into the island's official Christmas Villages programme: local product stands, handicraft workshops, guided village tours and open-air gastronomy, each village keeping its own character rather than one central market square.

Quick answer
As of publication (28 July 2026), the Deputy Ministry had not yet announced 2026/27 dates or the village line-up for the coming season — every source below still shows the 2025/26 programme, which ran 22 November 2025 to 6 January 2026. Nothing on this page projects those dates forward; where you see "2026/27," it means "not yet announced," not a guess dressed up as a date.
The 8 official Christmas Villages
The most recent confirmed season (2025/26) ran Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays from 22 November 2025, then daily from 22 December 2025 through 6 January 2026 — the historical pattern worth planning a rough trip window around, not a promise for 2026/27. Confirm directly with Visit Cyprus before booking travel around it.
Every village runs its own local programme rather than a shared schedule: expect stands selling local products and handmade crafts, gastronomy and craft workshops, organised nature activities and guided village walks, with participating restaurants and guesthouses adding their own festive menus.

Agros — rose oil, sausages and Pitsilia hospitality
Agros, high in the Pitsilia region, is known year-round for rose cultivation and traditional meat and food processing — during the Christmas Villages season its workshops extend to rose-oil distillation, sweet-making, and the village's own sausages, lountza and hiromeri (smoked pork specialities). The village's own event and workshop schedules are published separately closer to the season by the Agros community council.
Kalopanagiotis, Kyperounta & Lefkara
Kalopanagiotis sits in the Marathasa valley beside the UNESCO-listed Byzantine monastery of Agios Ioannis Lampadistis, giving its festive programme a distinctly heritage-led backdrop. Kyperounta, a Pitsilia neighbour of Agros at one of Cyprus's highest elevations, leans into its cool-climate produce and mountain setting for the same festive-market format.
Lefkara — split between Pano and Kato Lefkara in the Larnaca district — is already one of Cyprus's best-known heritage villages for its UNESCO-recognised lefkaritika lace and silverware; its Christmas Villages participation adds festive stalls and workshops around that same lace-and-silverware craft tradition.
Deryneia, Fikardou, Kakopetria & Statos-Agios Fotios
The remaining four villages round out the programme with their own regional character: Deryneia in the Famagusta district; Fikardou, a Nicosia-district village whose entire historic core is a protected national monument; Kakopetria in the Troodos foothills, known for its well-preserved old town along the Karkotis river; and Statos-Agios Fotios, a Paphos-district winemaking village. Each publishes its own local activity schedule rather than sharing one programme with the others.
Christmas in Cyprus's cities: Nicosia, Limassol, Larnaca & Paphos
The Christmas Villages programme runs alongside — not instead of — each major city's own Christmas market season. None of the 2026 city programmes below were published as of this guide's review date; what follows is the established pattern from the most recent (2025) season, sourced to Cyprus Mail's round-up and each city's own listings, not a 2026 promise.
Correction to a commonly repeated claim: Larnaca's main Christmas market in its most recent edition ran at Zouhouri Square in the city centre, not St Lazarus Square — sourced reporting for the 2025 season did not place the named market at St Lazarus Square, so this guide uses the venue the sources actually confirm.
| City | What ran in 2025 | Where | When (2025, for pattern only) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Nicosia | Official Nicosia Christmas Market (Handmade in Cyprus + municipality) plus the separate Mestinpoli Christmas Edition party | Eleftheria Square, connecting to the Paramythoupoli fair at the D'Avilla Moat; Mestinpoli at the Old Town Hall | ~6-week market into early January; Mestinpoli 26-27 Dec |
| Limassol | Several separate markets — Cyberness Christmas Market, Limassol Old City Xmas Fest, Limassol Christmas Show, RE-Merry Christmas | Kolla Factory; Agora Anexartisias (Limassol Old City); venue varies; Poseidonia Beach Hotel | Spread across December weekends |
| Larnaca | Larnaca Christmas Market (main) plus a separate Traditional Christmas Market | Zouhouri Square (city centre); off Dhekelia Road | 12-14, 19-21 & 26-28 Dec (Zouhouri); 5-7 Dec (Dhekelia Road) |
| Paphos | Kathikas Village Christmas Festival and Christmas Market Technopolis 20 | Kathikas Square; Technopolis 20 | 6 Dec |
