Biennal de Pensament 2026

The Biennal de Pensament returns to Barcelona for a week of public conversations and reflection under the theme “Desencadenar el present” (Unleashing the present). The festival brings together thinkers, writers, and artists from across disciplines to explore contemporary ideas in a city known for its intellectual energy.

Participants include philosopher and essayist Fina Birulés, writer Mariana Enríquez, filmmaker José Luis Guerín, artist and podcaster Jean-Philippe Kindler, playwright Angélica Liddell, poet and philosopher Chantal Maillard, antiracist thinker Lilian Thuram, migration journalist Eileen Truax, and writer and poet Antònia Vicens. Their talks and dialogues offer a chance to engage with pressing social and cultural questions.

Organised by the city council with support from the Ministry of Culture, the biennial is a highlight of Barcelona’s autumn cultural calendar. The programme promises a stimulating mix of perspectives.
