De Mitgeres a Façanes: Sarrià - Sant Gervasi

This itinerant exhibition, part of Barcelona's year as UNESCO-UIA World Capital of Architecture 2026, showcases the results of an international ideas competition promoted by the Fundació Mies van der Rohe and Barcelona City Council. Young architects from around the world were invited to propose interventions for ten party walls, one in each district, aiming to leave a lasting urban mark. The selected proposals will be realized during 2026, forming a tangible legacy of Barcelona 2026.

The show also traces the development of Barcelona's party wall remodeling plan, launched twenty-five years ago to address the visual and structural impact of exposed party walls. Visitors can explore how these anonymous dividing walls, often left visible after urban transformations, affect the cityscape and how the competition expands on the municipal plan. The exhibition is free and accessible for people with reduced mobility, held at the Dipòsit del Rei Martí in the Sarrià-Sant Gervasi district.
