Palacios 3: Urban Cultural Itinerary in Valladolid

Palacios 3 is a cultural itinerary that takes students through four historic palaces in Valladolid, offering a fresh perspective on the city's palatial architecture from the 15th and 16th centuries. The route includes the Palacio de los Vivero, Palacio Real, Palacio del Licenciado Butrón, and Palacio de Fabio Nelli, all located close together and partially connected by pedestrian paths. Participants explore each building's characteristic elements—facade, entrance hall, courtyard, and staircase—through guided activities.

Designed for secondary and high school students, the project is coordinated by the Cátedra “Palacio Real de Valladolid” and involves collaboration with local archives and the Museum of Valladolid. Teachers receive a guidebook with itinerary details and solutions, while students work on activity sheets at each stop. A guided tour for teachers is offered in September, and reservations are made by email on a first-come, first-served basis.

The itinerary stands out for its architectural and spatial approach, which is uncommon in these educational levels. With a maximum duration of three and a half hours, it provides an immersive way to understand how these palaces relate to the urban fabric of Valladolid. It's a valuable opportunity for students to connect with local heritage in a hands-on, interdisciplinary manner.
